Our Vision.

ANZSPA Vision Statement

Our vision for the Aotearoa New Zealand Student Paramedics Association (ANZSPA) is to establish a unifying organisation that bridges the gap between the two institutions delivering paramedicine programmes, connects undergraduate and postgraduate pathways, and fosters collaboration with Australian student paramedic associations. Central to this vision is the principle of whakawhanaungatanga (building meaningful relationships) across diverse organisations and communities within the paramedicine field.

ANZSPA is dedicated to serving students and the wider community by:

  • Facilitating enriching educational experiences that enhance the knowledge, skills, and confidence of paramedicine students.

  • Providing a representative body that advocates for the needs and interests of students within the paramedicine profession.

  • Upholding the commitments of Te Tiriti o Waitangi by actively recognising and respecting the partnership between tangata whenua and tangata tiriti, ensuring equitable opportunities and representation.

  • Promoting and supporting the development of cultural safety, empowering paramedicine students to deliver care that respects and responds to the cultural identities of patients and communities.

Through these efforts, ANZSPA seeks to cultivate a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and excellence, inspiring the next generation of paramedics to lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to equitable healthcare outcomes.
